Understanding Subfields of Chemistry

Understanding Subfields of ChemistryOne of the most fascinating aspects of chemical analysis is subfields of chemistry. There are many different subfields within the field of chemistry, and each has different purposes and functions. A chemical analysis is a scientific method that involves identifying compounds or other substances through the chemical properties of the specimen or objects used. The most common subfield is thermodynamics. The purpose of this subfield is to determine the entropy of a substance. Thermodynamics deals with all forms of physical processes such as the generation of heat, heat conduction, dissipative cooling, thermodynamic equilibrium, and transfer of energy. Each of these processes involve the use of mass or energy. It is important to understand how these processes work in order to properly utilize them.Potential thermodynamic properties are used in molecular or atomic structure to determine their nature. The basic assumption is that every molecule in nature is a perfect sphere, surrounded by the rest of the molecules. An accurate depiction of this is one atom per four electrons. A thermodynamic constant can be defined as the temperature at which a particular chemical process begins. The value of this constant is proportional to the pressure or entropy of the substance.A thermodynamic equation is used to measure changes in temperature. It is a very simple formula, but is extremely complicated when used with numerous variables. Different methods exist for computing this equation. Thermodynamic equation is also used to describe the internal and external entropy.Internal entropy is the change in entropy due to the degree of internal disorder. All elements in nature have a tendency to have internal disorder; this is commonly known as the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. Many of the chemical reactions in nature rely on internal disorder to get started, but internal disorder must be decreased to allow for spontaneous reactions. Internaldisor der can be increased by stress, contamination, and radiation. Temperature reduction is achieved by reducing the internal entropy by forming hydrogen bonds between atoms.External entropy refers to the change in entropy caused by the outside environment. A simple way to describe this is that heat is transferred from one place to another. Heat can be transferred through radiation, conduction, convection, evaporation, and diffusion. Heat is transferred through molecules, atoms, and other particles of matter. The changes in heat are ultimately dependent on the rate of energy transfer through the medium. Heat conduction means that the transfer of energy occurs at a faster rate than the speed of light.Other subfields of chemistry include analytical chemistry, thermodynamics, and structural chemistry. Each of these subfields has many different purposes and uses. Each uses an equation to explain the nature of a substance, but each has specific variables associated with it.

GED Test in New York Online Tutoring, Goodbye BobbiM Mar 7, 2013 GED Test in New York: Online Tutoring Heres a little bit of news to folks in New York interested or are planning on taking the GED Test in New York She Be Gone! Yup, the GED Test will be replaced by an exam that will be developed by McGraw-Hill, who will create their own version of the High School Equivalency Exam. I guess in January, the state of New York wont offer a free version of the GED Test. Instead, New York will offer a test called Test Assessing Secondary Completion, or, TASC, for short. Its a test developed by McGraw-Hill. If you ask me, I think the acronym GED is much cooler than TASC. TASC, SHMASK. Thats what I say. In terms of content, the test will appear the same and will cover GED Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and GED History topics. And, the test will last up to 7 hours. Awesome. I suppose what motivated the New York State was increasing costs. For the state of New York, it costs $6 Million to administer the GED Test. Representatives from the state of New York claim that the new version of the GED will cost less. Just a little info for New Yorkers that were trying to figure out how to pass a GED or its equivalent exam this year! Find the Best Private Tutors At Reasonable Rates - Get Real Results Fast! How to Crush Your Next Job Interview

How to Crush Your Next Job Interview via Pexels.com 1.    Meet  expectations: • Enter the room. •  Adequately answer their questions. • Provide a decent looking resume. • Thank them for their time. You  met  their expectations. You likely wont receive an offer. 2.  Exceed  expectations: • Enter the room with a quality handshake. • Effectively  answer their questions. • Provide an impressive resume. • Thank them while clearly conveying you want the job. • Off you go and you follow-up with a thank you note. You  exceeded  their expectations. You will likely get an offer, especially if everyone else simply  met  expectations. 3.  Anticipate  expectations: • Enter the room with a quality handshake and a clear understanding of who you are meeting. • Impressively answer their questions and ask good ones yourself based on a firm understanding of the company and the job. • Provide a resume tailored to the open position, showing that your experience maps to the role. • Thank them, let them know you want the job, and send a well written and thoughtful thank you note. You  anticipated  their expectations. You should get an offer! 4.  Establish  expectations: • Own the room, without being egotistical. • Teach them something they didnt know, without lecturing. • Demonstrate that you have already done what they are looking for, without being arrogant. • Make them forget that anyone else interviewed, without saying a negative word. • Let them know that you appreciate their time and want the job, without being patronizing. You  established  their expectations. Now, heres the twist You may or may not get an offer. Thats okay. If they offer you a job take it. They value you and your approach. You will likely thrive in the culture. If they dont offer you a job be good with it.  Move onit wasnt a good fit. In the long-run, you wouldve likely been disappointed. Final thought: In most situations,  meeting, exceeding, anticipating,  or  establishing  expectations is a choice! It starts with you choosing how much you are willing to prepare, practice, perform and put it out there. Taking Political Action at the Grocery Store

Taking Political Action at the Grocery Store Source: Juliasmath.com I don’t get it.   How does my quick trip for milk and toilet paper have anything to do with politics?   Well unfortunately for us middle class citizens, money is a synonym for power here in the land of the free.   Many wealthy business owners take the reigns on political campaigns by playing expensive roles in the governmental game.   Creepily enough, we are supporting these executives indirectly and often without knowing.   In small bits, we fiscally contribute to their capital capacity in the salary sword fight that is our campaign process.   The most widely known example of this operation is the Koch Brothers.   This particular duo and many other companies with powerful executives are behind a number of products that we procure.   A few useful websites (links placed below) illustrate retail industries and their corresponding political affiliations and contributions. Unfortunately, it can be a bit distasteful to correlate the often-ignored topic of politics to the simple undertakings and pleasures in our lives.   Starbucks and Build-A-Bear executives voted blue in the 2008 election while Domino’s and Chevron voted red.   Is a loyal pumpkin spice latte drinker endorsing the political philosophy of the Starbucks main man?   That is up to you to decide.   Research will lead you to discover how much and in what ways your favorite product executives participate. At the end of the day we live in a society where ignorance is bliss.   We avoid hot political topics because they demand awareness and realization.   We prefer to ignore unfortunate truths if it requires too much personal effort.   A good first step is enlightenment.   Let us at least recognize the irony in a radical liberal buying Angel Soft toilet paper (a Koch Brother product) in bulk.  We may not have the fiscal power of millionaire executives but we can use cognitive power to combat their covert affairs. http://www.goodguide.com/contributions http://retailindustry.about.com/od/famousretailers/a/retailpolitics.htm
